I just fixed a WD external with same clicking, I dismount the electronic board from the HDD and cleaned the contacts with a small brush and isopropil alcohol. Most click of death are just dirty electronic contacts. Do not disassembly the whole disk, it's not necessary.

I just started having this problem a couple of weeks ago. It's worked fine for well over a year. I use the Avast browser and have for many years. This only happens on occasion, but fairly often now. But it only happens on my computer and TV, not my phone. This is good because I depend on my phone to auto-play through multiple videos. But it's a real pain sometimes with the TV.

I have one of these controllers but i haven't been able to get it to work any advice would be helpful
